As far back as I can remember I have been in love with old stuff. Little bits of history, brown and stained, full of crusty beautiful texture... I love to Alter Old Books, I love Papers, fabrics, lace, broken jewelry, rusty old metal hinges, discarded and unwanted. I love to take unusual things, change them up and make them into something beautiful. I guess this is now called altered art. Who new? I learned from my family to try to find things I already had and use them for my arts and crafts. That was recycling, again who knew? I have discovered throughout my artistic journey that I enjoy creating beautiful and unique pieces. These pieces of my art can be very expressive, dark, abstract, or even fluid. I love it when I can share the process and encourage others to follow their creative dreams. As an artist and teacher, I find no greater joy then to see my fellow creatives express their inner soul. Art is in my blood and I wouldn’t have it any other way. |

I am Shel C and I love to share artistic processes. I create videos showing how I make artsy things out of paper, paint and other media. I feature mostly mixed media and collage but frequently dabble in other techniques and ideas. I love color, texture and experimentation! I take inspiration from my natural surroundings in Arizona... it is so beautiful here! I also get inspired by other artists that I interact with in social media arenas. I have been teaching art and craft classes most of my adult life. I have worked for a number of local stores and taught continuing education classes at the local community college. I am currently working with recycled art supplies to re-purpose and I blog about these experiences. My YouTube videos are sometimes instructional, hopefully entertaining and creatively inspiring. I do a lot of art journaling, collage, painting, jewelry making, card making, stamping, and stenciling...
